cold AGAIN today but could have been worse. got half way through st brides then walked up the strand to get a look at st clement danes. Fortunately there was a coffee nero's which was open until 7 so accompanied by a medium cappuccino and a butter croissant i managed to finish this very pretty piece of stonework in the warm!

cv, check, statement check, all i need now are a couple of A4 envelopes. I braved the cold and hit spitalfields this afternoon to start on christ church on the corner of commercial street. it needs a return visit which will be when the sun is out around 5.15 ish just in case i want a couple more shadows. I have got a sample pack of paper to pick from for a giclee print of some spires. v exciting! so far i like the german etching or the somerset photo.

it is still very cold. i want to go out and draw but i don't think my hands will stand it. i may go to westfield and draw there instead. i have a cv to write too, not that westfield is a displacement activity ....

today was my birthday. thank you everyone :)) well happy.

i'm working on a new set of ink drawings, well, fineliners. a series of spires, all churches so far, except for the city of london school. several have appeared on my fb artist page and on flickr. on trips to the City i draw people on the central line and when i'm not doing  that, in westfield :) so far I've done 10, 7 on my hit list

i need to re arrange the site and have a bit of a clear out. So some things may disappear.

today i did more drawings for my 'towers and spires' series. i'm not putting them on here yet but they are on my www.facebook.com/evelynrowlandartist They are very time consuming as one has to plot what order to draw the lines in as a) can't rub out and b) every line has to be in the right relationship with the one next to it, a case of being methodical and looking for the reference points before it's too late

spent today, well part of it, drawing at the valentino exhibition at somerset house. here are some. Bit crowded in there at the beginning I could have done more if there hadn't been time constraints, the joys of a school trip :)

Spent this evening over in curtain road near old street tube at the fashion illustration shoreditch meet up group. Well worth the £10 session fee. I don't put  them on this site but they are all on my www.facebook.com/evelynrowlandartist page. If you want to click to like my page, i would be very appreciative! Also thoughts on style are on the last post on www.evelynrowland.blogspot.co.uk  'You either have or you haven't got style

had a pleasant late afternoon around blackfriars and the oxo tower where i found another interesting top of a building to draw, the City of London School, this is very spindly and will suit a 0.05 :)
